    • Our client is a well-established, successful, national Company in the building industry with a strong history of success in the design, manufacturing, and selling of a range of quality innovative technical products and systems into the Commercial, Industrial and Residential Building markets. 

    • Based in Melbourne, and reporting to the General Manager for this business you will be responsible for working with and influencing the Victorian  production facility / operations and assume a senior leadership role on site.  Specifically, your focus will be on proactively driving continuous improvement and accountability across their site. In doing so, you will be involved in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, standardizing work practices, and encouraging a high level of engagement, ownership and team accountability.  Key areas of work include:

      • evaluating and improving the existing framework around Operational Excellence

      • Supporting the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary waste within business processes.

      • Devise, implement and own the CI strategy and deliverables for the business

      • Working with key business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement mindset to support an ongoing program of change.

      • Ownership and active leadership to help facilitate LEAN/process improvement-based activities and workshops to drive ideas and solutions.

      • Creating strong working relationships with department leaders to encourage a culture of transparency and engagement at all levels and to help in developing a culture of continuous improvement.

      • Supporting stakeholders to take ownership of continuous improvement initiatives from evolution/efficiency identification through to project delivery via regular portfolio reviews and updates.

      • Supporting the leadership team to establish metrics to monitor the savings as part of their Continuous Improvement Programs / Projects, ensuring a pipeline of initiatives.

    • The ideal candidate will have:  a formal qualification in Engineering or related discipline, experience working in a continuous manufacturing operation preferably in long products, practical knowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies and tools, an understanding of manufacturing technology, project engineering / project management experience, strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, a level of maturity and resilience.  IT literate, you will be proactive and results oriented, and understand the various “drivers” within a business to achieve success.  This is a great career opportunity with future career path opportunities.
