    •  As Category Marketing Manager, Commercial and reporting to the National Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for managing a major category (primarily around protection devices and LV enclosures) to deliver differentiated & customized solutions in the commercial market.  To maximize sales, gross profit, and market share, you will identify the areas to grow this business, and gain a full understanding of the customers and projects (identify their issues, needs and / or gaps in the market) to develop a true value proposition.  You will be responsible for 1 direct report, and work proactively in a marketing team based in Sydney.

    • This is a highly visible role, where you will be out in the field gathering data, analysing, profiling, and identifying trends (including understanding competition offering) and customer work opportunities (Commercial Electrical Contractors).  By gaining a true understanding of the Commercial segment, you will be able to engage effectively with customers to improve their loyalty and satisfaction.  You will work alongside the company’s sales team (assisting in the promotion of the company’s commercial products and services), liaise internally within the Australian manufacturing / assembly project division, as well as collaborating and influencing senior leaders and cross functional partners in Australia and Overseas. Further, a significant part of your role will involve developing the offering to market ie providing product development information - liaising with Engineers, Overseas Product Managers, the Companies manufacturing sites etc working on compliance and regulatory approvals with specialized internal parties, establishing market pricing, taking to market - working closely with sales and operations (including inventory and logistics), developing training tools and marketing technical information, attending Industry events etc.

    •  To summarize, your responsibilities will include customer centricity, research, data and analysis work, product development with Overseas Parent company Engineers and overseas Product Managers, helping bring product to market, ensuring compliance to product standards and installation standards, working on strategic product & marketing campaigns, initiatives, and programs, monitoring competition, reviewing, and reporting results.   

    • Ideally you will have:  

    • Tertiary qualifications (Marketing, Business, Engineering)

    • 10+ years’ experience in a similar role of Category Management, Product or Marketing Management, or sales / business development

    • Experience gained in the Commercial Building Projects sector (10+ years) as the role relates to project sale, specification of technical products and supply of solutions to commercial projects.

    • Experience in Building, Electrical, Engineering & or Industrial sectors for a Manufacturer or a Contracting business as the role relates to small to medium sized project sale and supply of solutions to commercial projects.

    • Knowledge of the low voltage electrical industry OR capacity to acquire technical product and industry knowledge, familiarize with Australian and International Standard (& related Bodies), get Industry Competitor knowledge, and get a full understanding of the industry value chain

    • Excellent IT skills, strong analytical and numeracy skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, negotiation, and influencing skills (able to work effectively with a lot of different Stakeholders including OS parties), the ability to multi-task and project manage, be professional, passionate, energetic, results and customer focused.
