    • Great opportunity for a “Hands on” Operations Manager to join a well-established Australian manufacturing Company that provide a range of steel building products and solutions to their customers throughout Australia.  The Company run a medium sized multi-shift operation (AM and PM) with a mix of production processes including roll forming. This is a fast-paced environment with “made-to-order” building product with often next day delivery requirements.

    • Reporting to the GM, you will be responsible for leading, managing and coaching the production teams (AM & PM) to achieve the company’s overall production objectives, as well as managing the  dispatch / transportation of goods to meet all customer requirements.  As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for all operational costs, and the management of all operational resources to budget. You will be involved in: managing and supporting the ongoing effectiveness of your Shift Coordinators / Team Leaders ensuring product quality, on time and in full product delivery (DIFOT), coordinating rosters / schedules, “hands on” production assistance as required, the proactive continuous “bedding down” and continuous improvement of all systems and processes within the operational area, ensuring the companies OH & S policy, despatch / transport, overseeing plant reliability / maintenance programs, effective liaison internally with all onsite personnel (as well as key stakeholders, customers etc), fostering a positive and proactive “can do” responsive customer service culture, ongoing training etc

    • The ideal candidate will demonstrate:  a minimum of 10+ years Production Management experience (ideally in roll forming or manufacturing processes with a fast process flow to the customer), 5+ years’ experience managing transport & logistics functions within a manufacturing operation -  within the building products and or industrial sector.  You will have demonstrated the effective day-to-day management and leadership of teams within a medium or large sized multi-shift operation having trained and developed personnel to maximize their skill set and achieve all company objectives.  A Trade background or Manufacturing / Engineering Degree with Lean manufacturing or 5S or other process improvement systems will be highly regarded.
